Day of Blood is a short Terran campaign for Cosmonarchy, set within Krysilliant. It is a novel take on a classic premise - Terran infighting in the shadow of a Zerg invasion.
Goals:
- Provide a compelling baseline for singleplayer Cosmonarchy content
- Explore best practices for dialogue, character design, and plotting in RTS contexts
- Encourage faction development for the Futurist Federation and Upstart Terran
Design
Mission design summaries:
01 - Sunset Mission - All Terran! Player is Upstart. Begins as a 2v1, with 2 more players' worth of reinforcements arriving in the north after a short delay. Player must rout all Orion forces.
02 - Early Retirement - All Terran! 2v3, but one of the 3 is split and is "neutral" to the other 2. Player must conquer the top left and bottom right positions of the map.
03 - The Dead of Night - All Terran, until... Zerg! Player is now Futurist Federation. Begins as a 3v1, until infinite Zerg players begin to drip-feed into the map. Player must defeat Heimberg's location in the north.
04 - A Shallow Dream - Terran vs Zerg! Hostile Z vastly outnumber rescuable T. Player must free a majority of the mining district, and can save Orion holdouts and local militia posts to help distract the Zerg.
05 - The Sun That Never Rose - Terran vs Zerg vs Terran! Hostile T and Z are roughly equal, and occupy different positions on the map that are equidistant from the player. Player must choose which target to eliminate.
06 -Daybreak - Terran vs Zerg vs Terran! Hostile Z vastly outnumber hostile T. Depending on player choice in 05, player will either be Futurist Federation or Upstart, and must either destroy an Orion control node or eliminate a heavy Zerg presence.
