Reconstituent
And let you serve a new purpose?
Reconstituent is a comprehensive overhaul of Risk of Rain 2. It reduces or removes input-RNG, improves enemy aggression, unifies mechanics, and introduces a host of new elements.
Compatibility with other game-state mods is not a prime concern for early versions. Utility mods (like BetterUI) should work.
Changes
Renamed elements have their former name listed in italics.
Global
Item Acquisition
- Items are now further segregated into the broad categories of Offense, Defense, and Utility.
- Chests no longer spawn items, and instead spawn tokens. Tokens earned in the previous stage are spent at the beginning of each stage.
- This rework can be reverted by activating the new Artifact of Avarice.
- All chests now belong to one of the above categories, and spawn item tokens of the corresponding category.
- All chests now have tiers and will always spawn item tokens of the same tier.
- For every Uncommon chest, there will always be at least two Common chests.
- Legendary chests are exclusive to specific stages:
- Abyssal Depths and Sundered Grove (guaranteed)
- Sky Meadow (not guaranteed)
- Lunar Buds and Void Cradles inherit the chest changes, spawning in clear tiers and categories instead of being identical to each other.
- Multishops always offer one item token of each category.
- Artifact of Command now sorts Command Essences into these categories.
- For example, you may encounter White Utility Command Essences, instead of simply White Command Essences.
- Monsters gather around chests, with more powerful chests attracting monsters of greater power and number.
Scaling
- Drop pod on initial stage is removed.
- Unless Artifact of Avarice is enabled...
- Environment scaling during a stage is disabled.
- Player level and ambient level increments at the beginning of each stage, in accordance with how much time has passed at that point.
- Experience points are removed.
